Welcome to Empirical Purple
A blog by Simon Brady to cover a surprisingly wide range of geekiness, in a combination that no-one else does quite the same way. Probably. Either that, or it'll just be Simon talking about the likes of Football (usually the Soccer variety), PC & Tabletop Gaming, WWE, Movies, Music and occasionally even my actual job of Graphic Design, depending on what I'm up to in the world.

Rather than having to get the drive to go for the first time on my own, a "you should come along" offer makes things much easier.
Despite the fact I've never had a moment's dance training in my life - the only steps I've learned are in Photoshop tutorials - I figured I could give this dancing thing a go.
Absolute beginner? Totally. This ain't Dance Dance Revolution to perky J-Pop tunes like I've been used to, but perhaps those lost years spent jumping around on a giant control pad to over 9000 BPM songs put me in good stead for this.

No, not classic British John Steed and Emma Peel, but the likes of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and the rest.
Whether it's in comic books (Avengers Vs X-Men and Avengers Assemble), in the new Avengers movie or playing the Marvel: Avengers Alliance Facebook game to death, I'm feeling throughly Avenged. So much so that I'll try not to mention the word again.

It's now or never. If I don't sign up for World Cup 60, then I simply won't bother signing up for any more, ever. 60 is a nice landmark, especially considering I co-hosted both 20 and 40.

Maybe I'll start posting on here again, after a break of a couple of months. I've been all over the place, mentally, of late, but now things are starting to level out again.
Maybe I'll start on NationStates again, or maybe I'll consign Starblaydia to the history books for good. Both options are equally tempting.
Maybe I'll drop some of this excess weight through various ways and means and I'll feel a bit better about myself, or maybe I'll continue to put junk in my body and sit around doing very little, reaping what I sow.
